Services
Every engagement is built on 25 years of doing this at enterprise scale. Not frameworks imported from a textbook — experience earned in the field.
Service One
Most executives have an instinct that their data could work harder, generating added value and new business opportunities. However, without a structured diagnostic, that instinct remains as a feeling. And feelings do not get funded.
The Vineyard Assessment is a structured evaluation across five dimensions of data maturity: Strategy, Quality, Integration, Governance, and Fluency. You leave with a clear scorecard, a maturity rating from Table Wine to Grand Cru, and a prioritised action plan with enough specificity to take directly to your board.
The assessment is designed to be run with your leadership team, not just your data team. The reconciliation conversation that happens when five senior leaders score the same dimension differently is often the most valuable 45 minutes of the entire engagement.

Service Two
Not every organisation needs — or can justify — a full-time CDO. But every organisation that takes data seriously needs CDO-level thinking somewhere at the top table.
As a Fractional CDO, I work with your executive team on a retainer basis — attending leadership meetings, challenging data assumptions, shaping strategy, and providing the senior data perspective your board needs without the overhead of a permanent hire.
This is not a review-and-recommend role. I work inside your organisation, with your team, on your real problems — bringing 25 years of enterprise data experience to bear at the moment it matters most.

Service Three
Most data workshops are run by people who understand data and struggle to explain it. This one is different — it is designed from the perspective of the executive who has sat in those meetings and wanted to contribute more, ask better questions, and challenge the status quo.
The half-day Executive Data Workshop builds a shared vocabulary and practical confidence across your senior leadership team. By the end, your executives can hold a data conversation, identify where decisions are being made on weak foundations, and ask the questions that keep data teams accountable.
The workshop draws directly on the frameworks in Data is the New Vineyard and can be run in conjunction with the book or as a standalone session.

Service Four
A data strategy that lives in a slide deck and never changes anything is not a strategy — it is a document. Real data strategy is built around commercial outcomes, funded properly, and implemented with governance that makes it stick.
Over four to eight weeks, I work with your leadership team to build a data strategy from the ground up — rooted in your commercial priorities, your organisational structure, and your honest assessment of where you are today. The result is a strategy your board can fund, your CDO can execute, and your organisation can feel.
What's delivered
How It Works
Introduction call
30 minutes. You describe your situation. I ask the questions that reveal whether there is a fit. No commitment, no sales pitch.
Scope agreement
If there is a fit, we agree scope, timeline, and outcome. The engagement is defined before any work begins — no ambiguity, no surprises.
Delivery
I work with your team, not around them. Every engagement produces outputs your people can use — not reports that sit in a drawer.
Follow-through
Where appropriate, I stay involved through implementation. Strategy without execution is just expense.
